We know a lot of people were surprised about the quality and usefulness of the app when they first got it. Personally, after reviewing most of the phrasebook apps on the AppStore, I found Nkyea Twi Phrasebook to be one of the best out there and the only one available for the Twi language. WHAT’S NEXT FOR NKYEA LEARNING SYSTEMS

So what’s next for Nkyea? We figured we would step up a notch and develop another Twi language app, this time an app geared more towards learning the grammar of the language; kind of like Nkyea Twi Primer, but with a different learning approach. We call the application Nkyea Twi Essentials. Nkyea Twi Essentials is basically part Twi dictionary, part Twi translator and part Twi tutor revolving around over 500 essential base nouns that you need for a rich vocabulary. As a dictionary and a translator, you can use it to search for a Twi word in English and have the app translate it into Twi. You can also let it say the word slowly one syllable at a time using the tortoise button feature. This is very helpful in teaching exactly how to pronounce Twi words. Then, as in Nkyea Twi Primer and Nkyea Twi Phrasebook, you can record and compare your recording with the native speak in the app. This way you will know whether you are saying the word properly or not.

What probably makes Nkyea Twi Essentials very special is that you can also have the app say a Twi phrase with the word you searched for. The words that make up the phrase are dissected and the grammar and cultural points are taught from them.
