Remainder and reminder are two totally different English words that look almost the same, and depending on your English accent, may even sound alike. The interesting thing is that when both nouns are translated into Twi they are all spelt nkae, with just a tonal difference in pronunciation.

Did you notice the tonal difference in their pronunciations? Listen to them again. In Twi, two words can look the same but mean totally different things depending on the pitch of the voice on which each one is said.
Below are two examples of simple phrases using reminder and remainder.

Reminder comes from the verb remind, which is kae in Twi and remainder comes from remain, which is ka in Twi.
